CHEN DONGLIANG


Researcher|Vice President of China Industrial Design Association, Founder of China Red Star Design Award, Industrial Design Consultant at Tsinghua University, Visiting Professor at Central Academy of Fine Art.


Former Director of Beijing Industrial Design Center, Executive Director of UNESCO International Centre for Creative and Sustainable Development, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Education Industrial Design Committee. Engaged in long-term research, practice in design, industrial promotion, and international exchange. Organized the design concept "Tianqin," the first household computer, and served as curator for the Ministry of Culture's "China Contemporary Art and Design Exhibition" and the Ministry of Education's "Perceiving China - Design Beijing" in Paris, France. Established the Beijing DRC Industrial Design Base, Beijing Design Week, and initiated the bid for UNESCO's "City of Design." Also served as an advisor to the Beijing Municipal Government. Collaborated with Italy's ALESSI on the "Forbidden City" project, introduced the Milan Triennale and the Italian Design Fifty-Year Exhibition.


Honoredwith the title of "National Model Worker" by the Chinese government and awarded the Gold Medal of the China Design Contribution Award by the Dragon Design Foundation, among other prestigious honors.
